The health and safety of BFC members is the first priority for BFC. the coronavirus cancellations are a fast moving and everchanging issue. The New West Afterschool Program is closed for as long as the Maryland schools are closed.
We are cleaning and disinfecting the facility daily and have disinfectant wipes available for masks and other equipment. Please wipe these things before and after use. The gloves and jackets are being washing regularly.
Handshakes at the end of bouts shall be replaced by the traditional fencing salute.
Youth fencers are requested to wash their hands with soap (20 seconds or two verses of Mary had a little lamb.
If you are sick, please stay home.
Even if BFC does not close, use your good judgment to decide what is best for you and your families.
The Columbia location announcement will be soon!
We are reaching out to BFC Columbia members seeking input on your membership plans. We need to determine staffing and scheduling needs. Thank you for helping with this.
We have a new set of rules to comply with the safety mandates and commitment to best practices. Our delay is because of our commitment to only opening when the facility is as
safe as possible.
We are planning to do a blast email asap. And special thanks to those few of you who have continued paying their membership fees as a show of support for BFC and its staff.
Baltimore Fencing Center
Fencing ... A sport for life
Awaiting a grand re-opening:
BFC Staff has been working hard to create a welcoming salle in Columbia with painting and polishing and deep cleaning!
The floor is being resurfaced, painted and refinished in anticipation of the re-opening. The medal strips are being resurfaced and there are a few more surprises that can only be seen to be believed! COVID-19 may be offering a sucker punch to BFC; but, don't count us out.
We are taking this time to do things that wouldn't be possible without a break.
We can't wait until you can come back and enjoy these improvements.
Give it a try at home:
We have not vetted all these sites, but we will post some as we find them. Please participate at your own risk. If you find a good tutorial, please share to firstname.lastname@example.org
